Flying over the polar bears we just filmed for BEARTREK

Was just on a flight to Europe from Washington State and glimpsed out of the plane window to an amazing sight – the northern lights in full display over Hudson Bay. Dancing like green curtains across the horizon. The in-flight map shows our location over the very polar bears we were filming for BEARTREK just over a month ago when they were still land-locked waiting for the sea ice to freeze. Now, in the depths of winter darkness, those bears are out hunting seals in minus 40 degree temperatures, thriving in their icy world. It was incredible to picture them down there under the dancing sky, doing their thing as they have for millions of years, slowly but surely becoming one of the most impressively adapted beings on earth. Wow – what a planet we live on.
