Cute factor = high. Black bear mother and cub in Anchorage yesterday – she became very comfortable with us filming from a safe distance

We had an incredible afternoon with this black bear family yesterday in an Anchorage park. We watched and filmed from a safe distance and the mother became so completely relaxed she actually fell asleep in front of us. The cubs spent the whole time scampering right to the top of the cottonwood tree here – 60 feet high – until the branches could no longer hold their weight. 1. Great photo, Chris. I’ve been to Anchorage a few times, and always loved the wild public parks & wetlands
